About Us
Whitney and Amy Stinehelfer opened up Laugh and Learn Daycare in September 2020. Laugh and Learn is licensed through the State of Michigan and we strive to provide a warm, inviting, and safe learning environment for kids of all ages. We take kids ages, 6 weeks-12 years and we do accept state payment. We provide AM and PM snacks as well as a well-balanced breakfast and lunch for the children in our care. While we may be an in-home daycare our schedule and our curriculum is pre-school based for older children. There is a bus stop for Hudson schools close to the daycare and we are able to get Hudson school-aged children on and off the bus.
My name is Whitney Stinehelfer. I grew up in Adrian but I have lived in Hudson for 5 years. I live here with my husband Ralph and our 4 children, Rylan, Eloise, Hayden, and Jackson. After high school, I was a stay-at-home mom. When I decided to return to the workforce I found myself at Walgreens where I worked for 6 years and I worked my way up to become a store manager. After I had my daughter Eloise I decided to follow through on my dream to open up my own in-home daycare. In the future, I am hoping to expand my in-home daycare to a center. In my free time, I like to spend time outside and travel with my family.

My name is Amy Stinehelfer, Whitney is my sister-in-law. I am originally from Idaho where I lived until I was 15 years old. Afterward, I lived in Dundee and the Atlanta, Georgia area for a few years before coming back to Michigan in 2005. I have been babysitting and working with children in Church since I was in Junior High. Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher, which never quite worked. About 2009 I fell into daycare and I have worked at a few different centers. Between the centers, I have worked with every age group and I was a lead teacher with a few of the age groups. In 2014 I received my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Washtenaw County Community College in 2016 I double majored at Liberty University in Crisis Counseling and Substance Abuse and Recovery. In my spare time, I am very involved in my church, I love to travel and I love to research my genealogy. I have yet to decide where to go next. I have actually debated about going back to school, I would love to get my associates in accounting so I can help out on the business end of the daycare. I also have thought about getting my teaching certificate. I'm going to see what happens and where the future takes me.
My name is Kara Clay, I am from the Traverse City area but have lived in Adrian for the last 10 years. I live here with my fiancé Larry and our three children, Maddison, McKenzie, and Maverik! As a young teen I babysat children up until I got to high school. I then went into hospitality while still babysitting on the side until I graduated high school in 2009 and met my fiancé. In 2012 we relocated down to Adrian and have been here since! I was a full time stay at home mom from 2012 until I started working at Laugh and Learn Daycare for Whitney in the fall of 2021. I absolutely love that I get to work with children everyday, and can’t wait to see what the future holds working in the childcare industry. In my free time I love to bake, travel with my family, and kayaking.
